Technifast were pleased to have helped Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains with their development and manufacture of a C-PAP flow generator in April 2020
In less than three weeks the engineers at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains attended a brain-storming meeting at University College London to investigate the feasibility of reverse engineering a C-PAP flow generator and just 100 hours after that meeting, the first prototype device underwent initial medical trials. Technifast supplied DIN 6325, H & G Dowel Pins to Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains.
Subsequently, a production Mark 2 device that reduces oxygen requirements and has a production system targeting 1000 units per day, in order to swiftly supply all UK hospitals with sufficient units, has been created. On Thursday 30th March 2020, the first Mark 2 units were delivered to University College London Hospital and underwent successful medical trials showing a significant reduction in oxygen requirement and also achieving MHRA approval.
The 10,000th device was completed on 15th April 2020.
Well Done and Thank You to Mercedes AMP High Performance Powertrains for their swift reactions and rising to the challenge we all face in the fight against COVID-19
